Another Brick is a First 44.7 – a Bruce Farr design, selectad as Best Cruser/Racer in the 2005 Boat of the Year contest. Even if there is the “racer” part, it is both easy to sail and spacious and comfortable to live in. You can rread more about what the experts say in Sailing World and Canadian Yachting.

Eventhough the yacht is quite large, almost 45 feet, it is easy to sail and operate. It is also faster than most yachts out there, which adds to the fun factor.

Layout

The L-shaped gally is on the starboard side and there are two toilets, one up front and one on the port side opposite the galley. There is also room for hanging wet clothes to dry in the aft port side toilet.

The sail area is large, which makes the yacht move well even in a very light breeze. Consequently, you need to reef the mainsail early, an operation that has been made quick and easy.

Any objections about selecting a performance sailboat and sacrificing comfort will be laid to rest at first glance below. Thanks to the long, low deckhouse, there’s headroom aplenty, topping out at an impressive 6’9″ in the aft head and 6’8″ in the main cabin.

The Fist 44.7 “Another Brick” can best be described as
